This month, we kick off what we hope is a long-standing collaboration between Hedon House and Max Black.
Meet Hedon House
We’re excited to introduce one of our favourite local collaborators: Hedon House, a private pleasure venue with locations in Sydney and Melbourne, designed as a space for guests to explore, connect, and release.
Imagine a character-filled, boutique short-stay rental with an adult edge, thoughtfully kitted out with everything you might need to explore sex, BDSM, and intimacy, from slings and restraint points to bondage furniture, impact equipment, sensation play tools and quality toys.
The entire House is yours for the duration of your stay, offering a sense of privacy and removal from the everyday – away from housemates, neighbours, and life pressures that can so often interrupt our ability to connect with pleasure.
Rather than leaning into the starkness of a traditional dungeon, Hedon House offers a warm, lived-in environment where you can move between play and rest with ease, whether that looks like play, bathing, lounging, talking, or waking slowly with coffee in a sun-drenched bed.
With all of the comforts of home, and consensual discomforts of the play space.

How it works
Bookings are made online, much like any short-stay rental, and you’re invited to arrive with a well-planned scene, a curious itch you wish to scratch, or a willingness to let the house guide you in a pursuit for pleasure. It is Hedon House after all.
The House is meticulously cleaned and reset between each booking, offering you a blank canvas to explore solo, with a partner, or with a small group. Some guests come prepared, guided by the detailed digital Guest Guide, while others prefer to open drawers, browse shelves, and follow their instinct.
Booking lengths range from three hours to a full week, allowing space for everything from a daytime escape to a longer, more immersive stay.
Who’s behind it all?
Hedon House was founded by Gala Vanting, a BDSM service provider, sex educator, and award-winning erotic filmmaker whose work is grounded in shame-free, consent-based approaches to sexuality and kink.
Gala’s philosophy moves away from polished or performative ideas of kink, instead centring connection, communication, and energy exchange, and creating spaces where people can arrive as they are, without expectation or pressure to perform.
That ethos is felt throughout the House, from the design (think mid-century-come-kink library) to the care taken in how it is held and maintained. Hedon House is a human space, and you can feel its energy and history from the moment you walk through the door.
Is Hedon House for me?
The key to enjoying Hedon House lies in your own principles of pleasure. You don't need to identify as kinky, have experience with BDSM, or belong to any particular community to enjoy the House. Guests include couples looking to try something new, solo explorers, experienced players seeking access to equipment they don't have at home, and people who simply want a private, beautiful space away from the ‘real world’ to decompress and connect.
Hedon House is for anyone ready to adventure.
