Let's face it... personal lubricants make everything feel so good! Whether you're using a sex toy or grinding up against your lover, you can always have more fun when you use it! Lubricants make sex toys and sex play not only feel better, but also safer. Think about what happens when you're having sex: the body creates natural lubrication so you and your partner don't hurt each other with too much friction. While your body can make a lot of it, the kind of "slickness" that lubricants provide can be very sexy and beneficial! By creating an enjoyably tactile arena, Lubes can increase intimacy and enjoyment for both partners. This, may we point out, is a very very good thing! The same logic applies to using toys, either with a partner or during solo play. Really, I don't think there's such thing as too much lubrication. Even if you lubricate naturally, a dab of extra lubricant on your toy or a body part is a highly recommended addition. It's better to be safe and slippery than sorry and sore!

Pick the Right Lube

Lubricants are available in numerous formulations which provide a wonderful variety to suit every individual's needs. The most common lubricants are water-based and silicone-based. Water-based lube, the most common and most versatile, is most recommended because it is compatible with sex toys, condoms, and is the most gentle lubricant for intimate areas. Silicone-based lube is ideal for staying wet longer. While it is perfect for prolonged lubrication, it can be difficult to clean up and is not compatible with all sex toys. Read on for a more in depth look at the wonderful world of lubes! Over the next couple of weeks we're going to walk you through these different kinds of lube, and hopefully make selecting and purchasing your next lubricant so much easier.
